Training and Support for a new way of empowering students:
At Clonlara, we offer comprehensive support to help your child thrive. Our experienced advisors work closely with families to build a personalized learning path tailored to each student’s needs and interests. While we don’t provide a set curriculum, we offer the freedom — and guidance — to choose the resources that work best for your child.
Parents also benefit from coaching sessions, helping them feel confident and supported throughout the journey.
Our Full Circle Learning approach transforms any area of interest into meaningful, structured learning. Progress is measured using Clonlara’s own evaluation method, centered on six key competencies that reflect academic and personal growth.
To enrich the learning experience, students can join virtual clubs, workshops, and events, connecting with our Global Learning Community of peers in over 70 countries.
Middle and high school students have access to optional self-paced online courses (up to three per year, not included in tuition), as well as counseling to support high school completion and post-secondary planning.
All students graduate with an official transcript and diploma from an American accredited school — opening doors to colleges and opportunities worldwide.
FAQs
Clonlara School is proud to be accredited by the following organizations: Accreditation International (AI), the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS), and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
The licensing process for Clonlara School Idanha is underway with the Ministry of Education in Portugal and is expected to be completed in time to open for the 2026–2027 academic year.
We believe that the school should allow students to take part in designing and implementing their own curriculum. When students’ personal interests guide their educational activities, their motivation increases and their learning becomes more integrated and lasting. Every aspect of a student’s development deserves attention: physical, emotional, and cognitive.
We believe that learning begins with curiosity. Clonlara sees the world as a limitless classroom and considers the learning environment an integral part of the learning process. Academic instruction and skill mastery are not confined to a single space or location. At home, at school, and beyond, there is fertile ground for learning.
Our approach to education fosters a lifelong love of learning.
The Clonlara School Idanha curriculum follows the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (MDE), covering core subjects including English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Health & Physical Education, Arts, Music, and Portuguese Language.
For Portuguese, we align with Michigan’s World Languages standards.
While based on these standards, our curriculum is personalized to each student’s interests, talents, and goals.
At Clonlara, we want our students to be joyful, lifelong learners who are well prepared for future challenges. Our evaluation criteria focus on six competencies we call “the 6Cs”—collaboration, communication, content, critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.
Teachers integrate these competencies into their course planning and projects, allowing students to continually assess their progress in these areas.
By nurturing and assessing these skills, we are confident that we are equipping students to actively engage and contribute in the 21st-century world.
