We are thrilled to announce our new school campus in Portugal. A vibrant space designed to foster learning, creativity, and personal growth will soon be welcoming students in Idanha-a-Nova!
Associação Clonlara Portugal has been working on the Idanha campus project since 2021, driven by our mission to provide personalized education to more students and our goal to ensure that each child receives the support and resources they need to thrive.
The new school in Idanha is part of Clonlara School, an international education organization based in Michigan in the United States. Clonlara School Idanha will initially open to students in grades 1 through 5, with plans to expand its services through grade 12 in the near future.
Our team is working closely with the Ministry of Education and other entities to be ready to receive our first students and families at our new campus as soon as possible. We aim to cultivate a nurturing environment where all students can explore their passions and reach their full potential.
Join us on this incredible journey as we pave the way for a brighter future in education. Together, we can empower the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders!
Together, we can build a future where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

The new Clonlara campus in Idanha-a-Nova is in an area served by several sports and recreation facilities, which enriches the school’s offerings and promotes community involvement.
The project involves the initial rehabilitation of an existing building and a future expansion of the total building area to support the school’s growing needs. We embrace the unique strengths and interests of every student, creating tailored educational paths that inspire and engage. In line with these efforts, our school building will have large, multi-functional classrooms.
The building renovation and expansion will occur in several stages, complying with local regulations and enabling a progressive opening and undisrupted school operations.

We are a global learning community with students in more than 60 countries, and when we say that we have a personalized learning approach, we mean it!
Our team will work with your family to understand your student’s individual learning needs and goals. It all starts with getting to know you.
We will receive you in a vibrant space designed to foster learning, creativity, and personal growth at our new campus!
A school must empower learners to participate purposefully and eagerly in their own education. Experience tells us that children learn best when their interests guide their activities and discoveries, and that parents have the right and ability to educate their children. We believe that learning begins with curiosity.
Clonlara sees the world as a boundless classroom and considers the learning environment integral to the learning process. Academic teaching and mastery of skills are not limited to a space or location. At home, at school, and beyond, there is fertile ground for learning.
We believe that a school should allow students to participate in the design and implementation of their curriculum. When students’ personal interests drive their educational activities, their motivation grows, and their learning is deeper and longer lasting. Every aspect of a student’s development deserves attention: physical, spiritual, mental, and psychological.
Our approach to education leads to a lifelong love of learning.
Learning at Clonlara is personalized, and it begins with the student. Our campus teachers meet with students and their families to discover their strengths and interests, then help them plan their learning using our Full Circle Learning process. With a plan in place, students direct their own learning with support from teachers and mentors, working together to create authentic, relevant, and personally challenging learning experiences.
At Clonlara School, students are grouped according to their age:
Youngers (grades 1 to 5 – 6 to 11 years); Middles (grades 6 to 8 – 11 to 14 years old); Olders (grades 9 to 12 – 14 to 18 years old).
In addition to the fundamental role of families in the development of children, the families of students at Clonlara School – Idanha have the opportunity to get involved in the educational community not only by participating in activities, study visits or field trips, but also by supporting the dynamics of the day-to-day school.
The Clonlara team has been working to open a school in Portugal for some years now.
In January 2022, Associação Clonlara Portugal established a partnership with the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova for the new building. Since then, we have been working closely with the Ministry of Education and other entities to be ready to receive our first students and families at our new campus as soon as possible.
Clonlara’s team is fully committed to this project.
Enrollments are related to the licensing process and can only start after the approval of the national authorities.
However, we are currently collecting names and contact information for interested families so that you can be the first to receive enrollment updates. If you’d like to join this list, please let us know at info.idanha@clonlara.org.
