How do you know when a student has really learned something? When they can teach it to someone else! Giving students the opportunity to teach others through presentations helps young learners retain information, strengthen the connections between new material and their background knowledge, and build confident communication skills.
At Clonlara, student presentations are a crucial part of our Full Circle Learning Model. They may include exhibits, demonstrations, performances, speeches, videos, or meetings to discuss and share what students have learned. Each semester, our campus students have multiple opportunities to present their projects to their peers, families, teachers, and staff; and we encourage our off-campus and online students to share their learning in similar ways.
The video above features presentations that included dioramas about ecosystems, an American Sign Language tutorial, and a dance entirely choreographed and performed by our elementary students!
