Actor, Singer, Dancer, AND Clonlara Student

Student Spotlight: Jake Kitchin

By Jake Kitchin, Off-Campus Student

My name is Jake Kitchin, and I’m currently a junior in the Off-Campus Program at Clonlara School. I chose Clonlara for my high school experience because I’m a professional actor, and Clonlara has given me the flexibility I need, while providing the guidance and structure for a fulfilling high school learning experience.

In addition to working as a professional actor since I was 8 years old, I am a singer, dancer, and member of both the Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. I’ve appeared on television (Saturday Night Live, Donny!, etc.) and in several films. I’ve also done a number of voiceovers, including singing “Life Lessons” by Peter Framptopn in this Uncle Ben’s commercial:

I have extensive stage experience and have been in a number of off broadway shows, regional theater productions, and readings of plays and musicals in development. In 2012-13, I was in the Broadway National Tour of Billy Elliot. I traveled the United States for a full year as a cast member in this incredible musical. Here’s a video of me as “Michael” in Billy Elliot:

And, here’s a more recent video of me playing “Mysterious Man” in a regional production of Into The Woods:

When I graduate, I plan to continue my studies and pursuit of acting and performance in college and beyond.
