When you become a part of the Clonlara School Home Based Education Secondary program, you join over a thousand learners
around the world who are continuing home education through high school graduation. All of our students, from
gifted to struggling, can take advantage of a wide range of learning approaches to prepare for their futures.
Through Clonlara, you will be able to take control of your own education in ways that are not possible in other schools
or home schooling programs. We work to help you define your educational goals and supports you in achieving them.
There are a great many options open to Clonlara School graduates. Clonlara's fully-accredited credentials add an additional layer of professionality to your transcript and diploma. With Clonlara, your homeschool efforts have third-party recognition.
Our graduates opt to go on to college, join the military, trade and technical schools, the business
world, and more, all with our accredited backing. They are equipped for the next step in their lives.
The difference between Clonlara's Home Based Education Program and conventional school is that the usual textbook-based courses are
not regarded as the only worthwhile method to earning credit. Clonlara students have a variety of ways
to complete high school credit. Some examples of other learning opportunities and experiences are:
- Doing a Walkabout.
- Completing an internship or apprenticeship.
- Doing a work-study course.
- Combining many different approaches to earn credit, including:
- taking a formal, "school" approach to some subjects,
- mixing formal with flexible approach using Clonlara's
QuickStarts and Course Outlines on the Commons, and
- approaching learning in a very holistic way: "learning through living."
- Studying local businesses, or developing a home business.
- Singing, storytelling, hiking, sewing, painting, building, or acting.
- Creating websites and/or computer games.
- Pursuing hobbies.
- Overcoming personal challenges.
At Clonlara School, a student is more often asked, "What did you learn today?" instead of, "What grade did you get on your test?"
or "Did you get your assignment turned in on time?"
