Kathy Sutherland has served Clonlara School in many capacities since 1984 when she was a Campus School parent of two sons.   She graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University with a major in German and a minor in library science, and earned a Master’s Degree in library science from WMU.   As a junior high school student, she was exposed to alternative education and felt that libraries came closest to continuing that spirit.

Kathy has worked in libraries, both assisting patrons and as a cataloguer, and was an editorial assistant for a newspaper.   At Clonlara School, she is currently in charge of our records and reports. Kathy served for many years as Clonlara's High School Dean, but is now taking on a less exhaustive role to follow pursuits like spending time with her husband at their cabin in northwestern lower Michigan.   Kathy also enjoys traveling, reading, cooking and sewing.   She and her husband have been in a gourmet cooking group for over thirty years.
